Don’t sleep on our mall’s food court! Curry Xpress (in the old Panda) NEVER disappoints. Every dish I’ve ever had has been fantastic. Customizable spice levels. I get mild korma (both chicken and vegetable) and my dad gets extra spicy. These little spinach/onion/potato fritters are delicious.

If you grew up visiting The Higher Shelf on Edward behind Solar Tan, or picking up incense at the skateboard shop that was where Oakwood Tattoo is now, or sorting through jewelry and gems and altar goodies at The Shop (now Metatron’s Cube), then don’t skip out on visiting Magickal Candles & Goodies By Ashley.
She carries gemstones for the creative types and the collecting types alike. Statement pieces for your home, standout pieces for your crystal cabinet, tumbles and worry stones for your pockets, and small beauties for jewelry makers too. I’m a jewelry artist by trade and love to pop in and pick things out for my creations.
Ashley also offers Reiki! She was finishing up a session when I stopped by.

We lost Joann Fabrics, and the inventory at Hobby Lobby seems to be dwindling down fast. But did you know that right here in our area, we have something even better?
Over the course of 13 years in business, Scarlett of The Fabric Cobbler has accumulated more fabric options than I have ever seen in person. I stopped by last night and was surprised that at the end of each room seemed to be another room. Its truly an entire library of fabric. Scarlett was my psychology teacher years ago, so I’ve been following her post-DPS journey the whole time. I remember when she was selling fabric from her home and she was growing her business rapidly. Now she has a beautiful, organized storefront tucked into a calm, quiet Forsyth neighborhood just next to the post office with generous open hours.
Right down the road in Mt. Zion, you can visit a small business that feels like walking into a slow-living coastal town home-spa boutique. You know, the kind you might stumble into with sandy feet when you had your head down beachcombing too long during your vacation.
●Feminine, neutral, and masculine scented artisan bar soaps (helloooo for everyone’s stockings!) ●Lip balms ●Deodorant ●Shampoo bars ●Body butters and creams ●Shower steamers & bath bombs ●The best facial cleanser and moisturizer you’ll get your hands on
That’s just a bit of what Angi whips up over at Plume. Summer 2025, they moved to a larger location and it is truly a sensory experience – beautiful for both the eyes and nose alike.
I’ve been using Plume’s skin care (the cleansing balm and the flawless moisturizer) for several years. They last me forever, remove mascara without irritating my eyes, moisturize like no other, and there is quite literally nothing else like them.
Visit Plume for the full spectrum of products, or grab some of their goodies while you’re at The Perfect Pair Vendor Market in Warrensburg!

Opened in by local beloved vet Larry Baker & his wife Angie, Millie & Bo’s started with homemade dog treats and grew into a full pet boutique for both dogs and dog lovers alike. Stock up on treats for the week for Fido and pick yourself up a new purse with a Fido look-alike on it! Or commission a custom pet portrait, or pick out some paw print jammies (bet you can find matching for your furry bestie)!
For the dogs, it doesn’t stop at your average treats by the pound. M&B’s has special treats for pup birthdays, outfits and sweaters, high quality toys, leashes and harnesses, and special foods too.
Check them out next door to Northgate Pet Clinic. Your pup can come inside with you. There’s even a little yard for a quick potty break.
Take a little small business shopping journey with me across town! We often start our holiday shopping at Novel Ideas Books and Gifts for stocking stuffers but we leave with way cooler things than expected (as always). I gift a lot of puzzles, and we found something really cool to switch it up this year…. a miniature greenhouse 3 dimensional puzzle! When you’re done assembling, it will be a beautiful little tabletop greenhouse! There are fun toys for every age. Brain teasers, specks fidget toys, functional puzzles that actually DO something once they’re assembled, and unique toys for kids like you’ve never seen before.
And of course, this shop is first and foremost a bookstore. Kim has stocked the shelves with books that are truly art, and many that reflect current events in digestible ways. Find your favorite lit on a scarf or pair of socks too.
Did you know 2025 marked Novel Ideas’ 30th year in business? I’ve been visiting Kim for most of my life.

Anna Thai Cuisine has been a favorite in my family since the month they opened. Their curry and their pad thai is unparalleled, and I can never get enough tom kha chicken soup. Anna Thai offers adjustable spice levels, so you can choose your favorite dish at different levels of heat.
This is a great restaurant for any occasion. The atmosphere is nice enough for fancy dress special occasion, but casual enough to stop in for a quick meal.
We have a very cool record store in town. Speakeasy Records & Oddities has been around for years! Brian Abbott opened this cool shop in April of 2017 and has curated a fantastic selection of tunes and funky gifts and, well, odd stuff! Scoot on in there for all the vintage vibes.
Record players, records of all genres, funky antiques… And as of January, 2026, Decatur now has a regular outlet for Stereo Equipment Diagnosis and Repair! Dave of Blue Mound Sound is going to be at Speakeasy regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays to meet your needs… come see Dave, talk gear, get advice and address that troublesome equipment… something Decatur has desperately needed!
Need a gift for the crunchy people in your life? Looking for some goodies to add to your cabinet? Wanna spice up your salads and baked goodies? Mari-Mann Herb Co Inc is more than just herbs and supplements.
And ingredients and supplies for projects too! Scent oils, essential oils, carrier oils, bottles, jars, butters and skin care ingredients, waxes, and so much more…
Marimann also often carries local eggs and has a freezer of prepared frozen food made by their chef!
My gift suggestion? Buy someone the alfalfa seeds and sprouting jar! I just grew some and it was so fun and easy!
Mari-Mann started in the mid 1970’s in Maribeth King’s home kitchen. She began teaching healthy ways to cook with herbs and spices in her home, selling her homemade products to friends and to the public. In the later 70s, Mari-Mann Herbs opened as a retail store. Read more about their history HERE.
Sick of holiday food already? Feeling a little icky but also exhausted and don’t want to cook? Namken Nutrition is here for you to grab some really delicious and nutritious meals with next to no prep time.
We stopped by just for some lunch (they’ll heat em up for you!). I had honey garlic chicken bowl with cauliflower rice, and my mom had a southwest chipotle bowl. Both so, so good! But also grabbed several others for the weekend.
Located in South Shores next to the Police Station!
Contrary to popular belief, Namken offers grab and go meals. You don’t have to sign up for anything or have recurring orders or do a pickup system. Just walk in their front door during their open hours, look in their fridge, and buy what you want. They have a full smoothie and coffee bar too, made to order.
